Our client is seeking a Storage Lead to oversee storage operations in Amersham involving large-scale projects for vehicles. This permanent, full-time role is ideal for a confident and well-presented individual with strong leadership skills and a proven ability to manage and inspire a team.
Offering a salary of £50,000 to £60,000 per annum, this position involves leading a team of six staff members. The successful candidate will bring good business acumen and a track record of delivering excellent results through effective team management and clear communication.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate and provide clear guidance and support to a team of six to achieve operational objectives, as well as foster a positive and productive working environment
- Develop and manage storage systems aligned with project requirements, ensuring security, cleanliness and proper documentation are maintained at all times, as well as coordinating vehicle movements in and out of storage
- Liaise with the Logistics Team, Service Department, Acquisition Department and clients
- Coordinate with multiple teams to ensure seamless integration of storage processes
- Monitor and optimise storage performance to support project goals
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety and quality standards
- Maintain accurate documentation of vehicles, their locations, conditions and movements using internal management systems and reporting related to storage activities
- Ensure all vehicles are stored in accordance with company standards, including regular inspections, battery maintenance, tyre pressure checks and fluid monitoring
- Develop and enforce operational performance, insurance and compliance governance
- Monitor inventory and storage capacity, accurate invoicing for all vehicles and report any concerns or planning for expansion as needed
- Supporting wider business operations during peak periods
Experience required:
- Proven experience managing and inspiring a team with demonstrable results
- Strong business acumen and organisational skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and present professionally
- Experience in managing complex operational requirements
- Knowledge of safety and quality standards relevant to storage management
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent practical experience
- Competent IT skills with experience using inventory or vehicle management systems (an advantage)
- Full, clean UK driving licence
